Mission
Colere means to tend, cultivate, foster, and promote growth. At Colere Microschool, we aim to participate with the Spirit of God in tending to the soil of our students’ hearts, making them a welcoming place for the seeds of faith to grow. Our goal is to nurture the moral imagination, helping students cultivate a passion for that which is Good, True, and Beautiful.
Philosophy of Education
We are informed by the Christian classical tradition expressed through the study of the liberal arts toward the cultivation of virtue. We are guided by pedagogical principles such as narration, experiential learning, real-world application, and the science of relations in education.
This timeless approach equips students to succeed in today’s world, building resilience, a joyful sense of identity, and a deeper connection to God. We see teachers as guides who offer a "feast" of great ideas and books in a joyful, inspiring environment. Ultimately, we recognize Christ as the ultimate Teacher, following St. Augustine’s idea of helping students hear the “Teacher within.”
Our philosophy also reflects modern research on how the brain learns and how children develop, ensuring that we nurture the whole child as they discover their God-given purpose.
Beliefs
At Colere Microschool, we are rooted in the historic Christian faith, affirming the Scriptures as God’s Word and the Nicene Creed as a unifying foundation of belief. We proclaim Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, whose life, death, and resurrection bring us salvation and purpose. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we are committed to integrating faith and learning, nurturing students’ minds, bodies, and spirits to reflect Christ in every aspect of life. Through a loving, supportive community, we seek to equip students to discover their God-given gifts, embrace biblical truth, and fulfill their calling to love and serve God and others.
